Series of eruptions of Soufriere Hills volcano between 1995 and 1999 devastated capital town Plymouth and several other villages. The zone is restricted until today, and buildings in that area are covered in volcanic flow of mud, ash, and rocks. Plymouth often is called "New Pompeii".
