Weekend in Memphis Itinerary
I recently spent 48 hours in Memphis and tried to cram as much as possible into a short trip. Here’s where I stayed and what I did during in my weekend in Memphis. Stay I’m a Marriott girlie, so I chose to stay at the Moxy Memphis Downtown, which was super conveniently located to restaurants and shopping. Moxy hotels are not full-service hotels. You’re not going to have room service or concierge or anything fancy like that. But you will have a clean, comfortable, well laid out room in a safe area that has a vibey fun common area. Best Foods in Las Vegas
Gambling isn’t my thing, so I go to Las Vegas to eat (and see shows). Here are my picks for some of the best foods in Las Vegas from my recent girl’s trip where I spent 48 hours in Las Vegas! Located in the Arts District of Las Vegas, Esther’s Kitchen was truly a highlight of our trip and tops my list of best foods in Las Vegas! The popular restaurant recently moved to a new spot that’s just around the corner from their old space and the new space is warm and inviting. We had a Wednesday night reservation and despite arriving almost 15 minutes early, we were seated quickly. We…

Eclipse 2024
I’m going to be honest: I did zero planning for the eclipse. Well, aside from the playlist I made. Thankfully my friend Kate rented an amazing AirBNB in Jonesboro, Arkansas, directly in the path of totality. In addition to making all the plans, Kate also made eclipse cookies and bought MoonPies. She’s the best! Right around noon, we planted ourselves outside on the porch overlooking this beautiful view. As we got closer to totality we moved to…

What It’s Like to Visit Lanai Cat Sanctuary
What is the Lanai Cat Sanctuary? The beginnings of the Lanai Cat Sanctuary date back to 2004 when founders Kathy and Mike Carroll led efforts to sterilize and later shelter Lanai’s street cats in a horse corral in Koele. The sanctuary was established in response to the absence of an animal shelter on the island, emphasizing the founders’ commitment to the welfare of feral cats and native species. The sanctuary relocated to its current site in 2009 with its primary goal being to protect Lanai’s cats as well as its endangered birds (from said cats). Since then the non-profit sanctuary has grown, not only in size, but in scope. Each…
