US citizens visiting Ireland for tourism do not require an Ireland visa for stays up to 90 days.
To visit Ireland, your passport must be valid for the duration of your stay and you must have at least one full blank page in your passport. No Ireland visa is required for tourist stays up to 90 days but you must have proof of sufficient funds for your stay in Ireland and a return or onward airline ticket. No vaccinations are required to enter Ireland.
The Schengen Area is a region of Europe where you can travel between countries with no border checks. Ireland is not part of the Schengen Area, so if you travel to Ireland from the Schengen Area you will pass through an immigration checkpoint and be required to show your passport.
