<p class="wp-block-paragraph">And, apparently, on my arm.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">If you’re looking for a fun and slightly unconventional Las Vegas souvenir, you’ve probably heard about <strong><a href="https://tripadvisor.tpx.li/9hrfrCnt">Koolsville Tattoo Las Vegas</a></strong> and its famous $10 tattoos. Yes, you read that right—a tattoo in Las Vegas for just $10.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">But is getting a $10 tattoo in Las Vegas actually a good idea?</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">I decided to find out.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">During a girls’ trip to Las Vegas, my friends and I decided to head to Koolsville Tattoo after dinner and get some ink. It was definitely one of the more interesting experiences I’ve had in Las Vegas—and one I won’t forget anytime soon!</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">So, what is it really like to get a tattoo at Koolsville?</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Here’s my honest Koolsville Tattoo review, including what the experience was like, what the $10 tattoos looked like, how long we waited, and whether I’d do it again.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">What Is Koolsville Tattoo Las Vegas?</h2>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Koolsville Tattoo is a Las Vegas tattoo shop known for its inexpensive flash tattoos and its iconic pink shops.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The shop bills itself as the <strong>“Home of the $10 Tattoo,”</strong> and the $10 tattoos are still advertised by Koolsville today. The designs are pre-drawn flash tattoos, so you aren&#8217;t choosing a custom piece when you go for the $10 option.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Koolsville now has multiple locations around Las Vegas, so if you’re planning to go, check the current location and hours before you head over. The shop says it is walk-in only for regular tattoo services, although individual artists may handle appointments for larger custom pieces.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">My Koolsville Tattoo Las Vegas Experience</h2>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">We rolled up to the Koolsville Tattoo shop in the Las Vegas Arts District around 7:30 on a Wednesday night after a fabulous dinner at the nearby <a href="https://tripadvisor.tpx.li/SYeekwir">Esther’s Kitchen</a>.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">We entered the bright pink Las Vegas tattoo shop and had a quick conversation with the woman at the desk. We signed our waivers, paid our fees, picked our tattoo designs, and then waited for our tattoo artists.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">And, yes, there were quite a few people there!</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">I was expecting a crazy Las Vegas atmosphere, but it was actually fairly sedate. There were a fair number of people hanging around, but many of them were there as moral support for friends who were getting tattoos rather than getting inked themselves.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">We were told to expect about an hour wait, and that ended up being pretty accurate.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Honestly, the waiting was part of the fun.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">There were people getting their very first tattoos, people getting tiny souvenirs from Las Vegas, and groups of friends who had apparently decided that getting matching—or at least coordinating—tattoos was a good idea.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">And I have to admit, I loved the whole thing.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Choosing a $10 Koolsville Tattoo</h2>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">One of the fun parts of getting a Koolsville tattoo is choosing your design.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">When we visited, there were about 30 vibrant and striking $10 designs to choose from. They included classic Las Vegas images like dice, along with ghosts, mountains, hearts, and other simple designs.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The designs were definitely flash tattoos—small, relatively simple designs that could be done quickly.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">But here&#8217;s what I really liked:</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>Not all of the tattoos screamed Las Vegas.</strong></p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">My friends and I specifically chose designs that weren&#8217;t Las Vegas-themed, which meant our tattoos could be souvenirs from our trip without looking like giant “I WENT TO VEGAS!” tattoos.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">That was a win for me.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Of course, the exact selection of $10 tattoo designs can change, so don&#8217;t go in expecting to see a particular design from a photo online. The fun is really in seeing what&#8217;s available when you get there.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">What Is Getting a Tattoo at Koolsville Like?</h2>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Once it was our turn, things moved pretty quickly.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">One thing I really liked about Koolsville was that if you came with a group and you were all getting tattoos, the tattoo artist called you all to their station as a group.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">That made the experience much more fun.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">My friends could chat with me, watch what was happening, and take pictures while I was getting my tattoo. It felt much more like a fun group experience than something where everyone disappeared into a separate room.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">And the actual tattoo?</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Mine took about <strong>five minutes</strong>.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The $10 designs are small and simple, so obviously this isn&#8217;t the same experience as sitting down for a several-hour custom tattoo. But that was exactly what we were looking for.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">We were all happy with our designs and the quality of the work.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">And yes, I now have a permanent reminder of that Las Vegas trip!</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Is There Privacy at Koolsville Tattoo?</h2>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">This is something you may want to know before you go.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">When we visited, there were four tattoo stations, and there weren&#8217;t privacy screens separating them.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">So if you&#8217;re someone who wants a quiet, private tattoo experience, this probably isn&#8217;t the best choice for you.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">On the other hand, if you&#8217;re going with friends and want everyone to be part of the experience, I actually thought the setup worked really well.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">You may have an audience beyond just the people you came with, though!</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Personally, I thought it added to the fun.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">How Much Does a Koolsville Tattoo Cost?</h2>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The big question!</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Koolsville currently advertises $10 tattoos, although the exact price of a tattoo depends on the design and service you choose. Their current website also advertises other tattoo options and custom artwork.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">When I visited in 2024, there were also tattoo options at higher price points, including $20, $30, $50, and $100, as well as custom artwork.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">So you aren&#8217;t limited to the $10 tattoos.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">If you&#8217;re looking for something small, simple, and inexpensive, the $10 flash tattoos are obviously the big attraction. If you want something larger or more personalized, you&#8217;ll want to discuss pricing with the artist.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">And remember to budget for a tip for your tattoo artist!</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">How Long Does a Koolsville Tattoo Take?</h2>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">There are really two different answers to this question.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>The tattoo itself can be very quick.</strong></p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Our $10 tattoos took about five minutes each because the designs were small and simple.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>The wait can take much longer.</strong></p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">When we visited on a Wednesday evening, we waited about an hour before seeing our tattoo artist.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Koolsville currently says that wait times vary depending on the day, time, and location. They also recommend calling to ask which location has the lowest wait time if you&#8217;re trying to minimize your wait.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">So if you&#8217;re squeezing a Koolsville tattoo into a busy Las Vegas itinerary, I&#8217;d give yourself some extra time.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">I wouldn&#8217;t plan something that starts 30 minutes after you arrive at the tattoo shop!</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Do You Need an Appointment at Koolsville Tattoo?</h2>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">For the regular tattoo shop experience, Koolsville is walk-in only. According to the shop, individual artists may arrange appointments directly for larger custom pieces.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">That makes Koolsville particularly easy to add to a Las Vegas trip.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">You don&#8217;t necessarily have to decide weeks in advance that you&#8217;re going to get a tattoo.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">You can be wandering around Las Vegas, look at your friends and say, “Should we get tattoos?” and, apparently, the correct answer can be yes.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">At least that&#8217;s what we did.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">What Happens After You Get Your Tattoo?</h2>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">After we finished, we were given aftercare kits and sent on our way.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">My tattoo healed nicely in about a week after we got home from Las Vegas.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Of course, everyone&#8217;s tattoo healing experience is different, and you&#8217;ll want to follow the aftercare instructions provided by your tattoo artist. Koolsville also publishes tattoo aftercare instructions, including keeping the tattoo clean, avoiding picking or scratching it, and protecting it from direct sunlight and soaking while it heals.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">And one important piece of advice from me:</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>Don&#8217;t get your tattoo drunk.</strong></p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Las Vegas has plenty of opportunities to make questionable decisions after a few cocktails. A permanent one doesn&#8217;t have to be among them.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Get your tattoo while you&#8217;re sober so you can make sure you actually like the design you’re about to put on your body!</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Is Koolsville Tattoo Worth It?</h2>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">For me, yes<strong>.</strong></p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">This was my third tattoo and it was one of the most interesting tattoo experiences I&#8217;ve had, and I loved that it was something fun that my friends and I could do together.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">I also liked that the $10 tattoo designs weren&#8217;t all stereotypical Las Vegas images. We were able to choose little designs that had meaning to us without getting something that looked like a souvenir from a gift shop.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Would I recommend Koolsville if you&#8217;re looking for a highly detailed custom tattoo from a specific artist?</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Not the $10 experience.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">But if you&#8217;re looking for a small, inexpensive, spontaneous Las Vegas tattoo, especially as part of a girls&#8217; trip or group trip, I think Koolsville is a really fun option.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">And if it&#8217;s your first tattoo?</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">I actually think Koolsville could be a great place to get one—especially if you choose one of the small flash designs.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Just remember that even if it only costs $10, it&#8217;s still a tattoo<strong>!</strong></p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">It&#8217;s going to be on you a whole lot longer than your Las Vegas hangover.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Getting a tattoo probably isn&#8217;t at the top of everyone&#8217;s Las Vegas itinerary.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">But maybe it should be!</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Koolsville Tattoo was definitely one of the more unusual things I&#8217;ve done in Las Vegas, and I&#8217;m glad I decided to go for it.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">My friends and I had fun choosing our designs, hanging out while we waited, getting our tattoos together, and taking pictures of the whole experience.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">And now, every time I look at my tattoo, I have a little reminder of that trip.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Not a bad souvenir for a few bucks.</p>
