Think Orlando is just theme parks and mouse ears? Think again. This one-hour Orlando ghost tour takes you through downtown’s historic core, where the buildings are old, the stories are older, and some of the residents… well, they’ve been here for over a century. You’ll meet in front of the Orange County Regional History Center, then wind your way past landmarks that have seen everything from notorious murders to UFO sightings. And yes, we’re talking 100-year-old theaters, storied hotels, saloons, cathedrals, and more.

My guide, Ben (above), was phenomenal and full of fascinating stories about Orlando’s spooky past. Note that the tour runs rain or shine and our tour was definitely more rain than shine, but it added ambiance to the evening and Ben did his best to keep us dry whenever possible!

Note: While I was hosted for this tour, all opinions are my own.

If you’re looking for things to do in Orlando at night that are way cooler (and creepier) than standing in line for rides, this is it. Do I believe in ghosts? Let’s just say I’m open to the idea—especially when the stories come with this much atmosphere.

The Beacham Theater

Part of any true haunted Orlando experience, the Beacham was a jail and graveyard before it became a theater. Over 100 years old and still flaunting its original architecture—and, allegedly, some original tenants—locals say spirits of the “discarded bodies” buried here still linger. Whether you believe in the paranormal or not, it’s hard to ignore the shiver that runs down your spine as you stand on ground with that kind of past.

76 W Church St – Old Orlando Railroad Depot &; Strand Hotel

Back in the day, this was a hub for travelers that included a brothel. Now? The station is quiet—unless you count the phantom train whistles and shadowy figures that paranormal enthusiasts swear they’ve seen. Its history is rich, its mystery even richer, making it a must-stop on any Orlando ghost walk.

Kress Building

Once a bustling department store, now known for its… atmospheric quirks. Cold spots. Flickering lights. That sense someone’s standing right behind you when no one is. Its art deco beauty is a sharp contrast to the unsettling stories it holds—exactly the kind of spot ghost hunters love.

Rogers Building

One of Orlando’s oldest structures, this Victorian charmer is said to be home to a few long-term (read: ghostly) residents. Passersby have spotted apparitions in the upper windows and felt like they were being watched.

30 S Magnolia – Phoenix Building

A historic hot spot for paranormal activity, this building has a way of making its presence known. Visitors have seen ghostly shapes and experienced unexplained sensations here. It’s the kind of place where the air feels a little heavier… in the best creepy way.
