<p>Located midway between Melbourne and Miami on Florida’s Atlantic Coast, Singer Island, Florida is replete with beautiful beaches and local attractions that make it the perfect place for a weekend beach break. Singer Island is also Florida&#8217;s easternmost point, highlighting its geographical significance in Palm Beach Shores.</p>

<p>Singer Island is a 7-mile-long barrier island located just north of West Palm Beach, Florida. Nestled in the oceanfront town of Riviera Beach, this picturesque island is renowned for its stunning beaches and breathtaking vistas. Named after Palm Beach developer Paris Singer, son of the famous Singer Sewing Machine magnate, the island boasts a rich history dating back to the early 20th century. Today, Singer Island is a sought-after destination for those looking to enjoy a relaxing beach vacation, indulge in outdoor activities, and experience a harmonious blend of natural beauty and luxury amenities.</p>

<p>Renovated in 2024, <a href="https://booking.tp.st/DjVSnVt3">The Singer Oceanfront Resort</a> sits on a wide stretch of beach and has all the amenities you need in a beach resort. Rooms come with the use of two chairs and a beach umbrella, one hour of non-motorized water sports (boogie boards, kayaks, or SUPs), and one hour of bicycle rental per day. Beach service is available so you can order drinks and snacks while you sunbathe and splash in the surf on their wide stretch of beach.</p>



<p>Speaking of the rooms, they&#8217;re as beautiful as the white sand beach! A chic mix of coastal blues and whites, the spacious rooms and substantial balconies make the ideal home base for enjoying Singer Island. One of my favorite features was the under-counter motion-sensor light in the bathroom which meant you don&#8217;t have to turn on the overhead lights for those middle-of-the-night bathroom trips!</p>

<h4 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-loggerhead-marinelife-center-home-of-sea-turtles">Loggerhead Marinelife Center: Home of Sea Turtles</h4>



<p>My absolute favorite activity while I was in the Singer Island area was the <a href="https://tripadvisor.tp.st/ZJEMBgv7">Loggerhead Marinelife Center</a>, which is not surprising because I&#8217;m a huge fan of sea turtles. Located near Singer Island in Juno Beach, Florida, the Loggerhead Marinelife Center focuses on four pillar areas relating to sea turtles: education, conservation, rehabilitation, and research. All the turtles in their care are either sick or injured and are being treated in their state-of-the-art veterinary hospital to be released back into the wild. LMC has one of the longest-running sea turtle monitoring programs in Florida and they document all turtle-related activities on a nearby 9.5 mile stretch of beach. Visiting this donation-based center is a great way to spend a few hours and if you&#8217;re in town while they&#8217;re releasing one of their turtles back into the wild, I highly suggest heading to the beach to see the event in person!</p>



<h4 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-jupiter-inlet-lighthouse">Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse</h4>



<p>Climb 105 steps to the top of the <a href="https://tripadvisor.tp.st/74UIx0Es">Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse</a> for 360-degree views of the confluence of the Jupiter Inlet and the Indian River. This historic lighthouse, which was first lit in 1860, is still used today as a navigational aid by sailors in the area. Note that the climb is steep and narrow (though there are landings to take breaks) so if that&#8217;s not your thing, maybe admire it from afar.</p>

<h4 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-peanut-island">Peanut Island</h4>



<p>The human-made <a href="https://tripadvisor.tp.st/LeqN1YX5">Peanut Island</a> is located in the Lake Worth inlet, just off the coast of Singer Island. Peanut Island is near the southern tip of Singer Island, an area known for its developments, including oceanfront resorts and various recreational opportunities. Accessible via the Peanut Island Shuttle Boat or by kayak tour, this small island was once the site of a planned peanut oil-shipping operation and today is used recreationally for snorkeling, swimming, and sunning on its small beach. There’s also a Kennedy-era bomb shelter that’s being restored and will soon be reopened for public tours. I took <strong><a href="https://www.visitpalmbeach.com/guided-peanut-island-kayak-tour-with-optional-snorkeling/">this kayak tour</a> </strong>to the island with Visit Palm Beach and it was a 30-minute paddle to the island, we had a little over an hour to explore and snorkel, then a 30-minute paddle back to our launch point. I highly recommend going towards the end of the day when the crowds are thinning out and it’s a bit cooler.</p>



<h4 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-mounts-botanical-garden">Mounts Botanical Garden</h4>



<p>Located about 20 minutes South of Singer Island in West Palm Beach, <a href="https://tripadvisor.tp.st/XxXDuXLA">Mounts Botanical Garden</a> spans 20 acres and has over 7,000 species of plants including plants native to Florida and tropical fruit. The garden is divided into 25 unique areas and I spent hours exploring the various areas including the rose garden, the edible garden, and the O’Keeffe Rain Garden. I&#8217;m not a green thumb gal, but I loved seeing how the different gardens were laid out and the huge variety of plants in each.</p>



<h4 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-worth-avenue">Worth Avenue</h4>



<p>While you&#8217;re in West Palm Beach, head over to <a href="https://tripadvisor.tp.st/2E4nicCO">Worth Avenue</a> for a little shopping! Or, in my case, window shopping! Like California&#8217;s Rodeo Drive, Worth Avenue is home to high-end shops like Chanel and Versace, which are out of my budget, but it was still fun to stroll the stunning street and daydream!</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-beach-vibes">Beach Vibes</h3>



<p>Singer Island is ideal for a weekend beach break, offering pristine white sand beaches and crystal-clear waters that create a serene atmosphere perfect for unwinding. <a href="https://tripadvisor.tp.st/onDvaQkh">John D. MacArthur Beach State</a> Park is a must-visit, featuring 2 miles of untouched beach, three nature trails, and paddleboard or kayak rentals. If you prefer a more leisurely pace, take a stroll along the beach, enjoy a scenic bike ride, or simply sit back and watch the sunset over the horizon.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-events-and-festivals">Events and Festivals</h3>



<p>Singer Island is alive with events and festivals throughout the year, making it a vibrant destination for visitors. One of the highlights is the Singer Island Beach Festival, held in June, which features live music, food vendors, and a variety of beach activities. Water sports enthusiasts can enjoy surfing and paddleboard competitions, while the winter months bring the Palm Beach Winter Equestrian Festival in nearby Wellington.</p>

<p>Located at the Singer Oceanfront Resort, <a href="https://www.carettacarettarestaurant.com/">Caretta Caretta</a> (which is also the scientific name for the Loggerhead Sea Turtle) offers beachside dining and a coastal-style menu that&#8217;s perfectly fitting for the locale. With a focus on fresh fish and local ingredients, it was hard for me to choose a dish from the mouthwatering menu, but the Crispy Whole Snapper did not disappoint, and The Hawksbill Cocktail (a mix of gin, salted raspberry, hibiscus, lemon, egg white) was the perfect pairing!</p>



<h4 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-beacon">BEACON</h4>



<p>With views of the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse, the ultra-chic <a href="https://tripadvisor.tp.st/9XnBFm6m">BEACON</a> is the perfect date-night spot! The contemporary seafood menu and craft cocktails justify the premium pricing and the service was fantastic! The seared scallops were expertly seared and the accompanying fresh horseradish hit just the right note without being overpowering.</p>



<h4 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-guanabanas">Guanabanas</h4>



<p>Once a sandwich shop owned by local surfers, <a href="https://tripadvisor.tp.st/RRaOkjcv">Guanabanas</a> has evolved into a full-service restaurant in a lush tropical setting. The open-air restaurant overlooks the Intracoastal Waterway while tiki huts and banyan trees offer much-needed shade. The extensive menu features Florida-caught fish and unique signature cocktails that pack a punch (my Cat 5 was <em>strong</em> and delicious)! Stop in on Friday or Saturday evening if live music is your thing. Local artists and national acts like Julian Marley, The Fray, and Rob Thomas of Matchbox 20, have played there.</p>
